Robert W. Simmler was born in Milford, MA in 1933. He attended Boston College and graduated cum laude in 1955, with a B.S. for double majors in History and Government. He then enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. where he received his LL.B. in 1958. After being admitted to practice law by the Massachusetts bar in 1958, he decided to continue his legal education at the Boston University School of Law where he received his LL.M. with a concentration in taxation in 1961. Prior to studying for his master's degree, Robert served in the United States Army. Since joining Cornetta, Ficco, Simmler & Vallee LLP Robert has concentrated his practice in the areas relating to real estate conveyancing, contracts and acquisitions and divestitures. He has performed numerous real estate closings and title examinations; and he has prepared countless purchase and sale agreements. He has represented clients in foreclosure proceedings and in matters before the Board of Appeals Hearings.
Robert is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Norfolk County Bar Association, the Massachusetts Conveyancing Association and the Western Norfolk Bar Association. Robert has been active in school board issues, having served as a member and Chairman for the Franklin School Committee, Paramenter School Building Committee and Dean Cooperative Bank. He is a former president of the Franklin Rotary Club. He has also been involved in his community serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for both the Framingham Union Hospital & Metrowest Medical Center and the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home & Heritage at Framingham Assisted Living Center. Robert is currently a member and former Grand Knight in the Sacred Heart Council Knights of Columbus.
