PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

As a principal and founding partner of Cornetta, Ficco, Simmler & Vallee, LLP I have been engaged in the general practice of law, with emphasis on conveyancing, real estate, zoning, municipal, corporate and probate law. I was previously a principal in the law firm of Ficco & Simmler from 1982-2002. I was a solo practitioner from 1961-1981, and a principal in the firm of St. Cyr & Ficco from 1960-1961. Prior to practicing law, I was a highway and structural design engineer, with supervisory duties, for HNTB, a nationally recognized architectural engineering firm. During my collegiate years, I also obtained surveying experience through summer employment.

EXPERIENCE EXAMPLES

I have successfully presented for permitting and approval many matters, both residential and commercial, before local municipal boards, including planning boards, zoning boards of appeal, conservation commissions, design review board, and selectmen/town council, including subdivisions of land, so called Form A plans, site plans, variances and special permits; and orders if condition. I have represented parties in the purchase and sale of real estate, personal property, and business'. I have processed both commercial and residential mortgage loans for area banks, and residential loans for national mortgage companies. Earlier in my career, my practice also included criminal and civil jury and jury waived trials, and domestic relations and family law. I have also served as the Town of Franklin Attorney for over a decade.
